I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of California (License No. PSY22245) and have been providing psychological assessment and treatment services to individuals and families since 2001. I presently work part-time as a Clinical Research Psychologist at SRI International's Center for Health Sciences and part-time as a private practitioner. I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center in the Department of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University in 2007 and completed a predoctoral internship in Pediatric Psychology at the University of Florida School of Medicine.
I am a cognitive-behavioral therapist, which means that I use techniques that target and modify a client's thoughts and behaviors in ways that produce symptom relief and lasting change. Moreover, these techniques are often based upon empirical evidence, meaning that they have been tested in research studies and shown to produce helpful results.
In addition to clinical work, I have been active in psychological research and have taught multiple university courses in psychology.
